Joint Fish Out ~ Ospreys, Totems & Loons

Squamish River ~ April 12, 2015

This is an annual event taking place on the second Sunday in April. Most people hit the river early in the morning. Some drift the river - most are on foot. After a four of five hours of hard fishing, everyone gathers at the Ashlu campsite for a riverside lunch. For several days, the meteorologists were calling for rain ... and a lot of it in the Suamish River valley .... not an uncommon phenonomen at this time of year. But ... as luck would have it, they were wrong .... it was a perfect day for fishing ... overcast and cool. In years past, finding fish had proven to be very difficult; but this year, several fish were landed .... one steelhead, a few rainbow and some bull trout. All in all, a very enjoyable day on the river.
