Osprey Flyfishers

The Osprey Flyfishers is the second oldest fly fishing club in the province of British Columbia. The club was founded in 1969, is registered under the Societies Act of British Columbia and operates in the Lower Mainland.

Objectives

  • To bring together individuals interested in the sport of flyfishing.
  • To create a spirit of fellowship and cooperation through active participation in the sport of flyfishing.
  • To support all aspects of recreation and conservation in its programs.

Meetings

The club holds two meetings per month, from September through June. Our General Business Meeting, which is held on the second Wednesday of the month, usually entails a guest speaker. Presentations cover all areas of flyfishing with topics ranging from conservation, to photography, to equipment, to exotic trips. On the third Wednesday of the month, the club holds a Method Session during which a presentation may be made on fly fishing techniques, fly casting or fly tying.

Fish Outs

The club holds fishouts on a monthly basis. These may be local day trips or weekend trips to the interior or some other part of British Columbia.

Membership

Whether new to the sport or a seasoned fly fisherman, you are welcome to attend club functions ..... regular meetings, method sessions and fish outs as a guest. Guest membership is granted for a period of one year; after which time your name may be put forward to the club for full membership.
